This safari takes you to several parks, including the Serengeti National Park. While in the Serengeti National Park, you can choose to add a balloon safari, which is optional. Tarangire is known for its high density and large herds of elephants. Lake Manyara, home to a large number of baboons and also the famous tree-climbing lions, which are unique to this park. This is the moment you've been waiting for: your Tanzanian safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and we'll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.

Arusha has so many things happening, it can be difficult to know where to look. There are busy markets, informative museums, and terrific restaurants and street food. Even just standing on a busy street corner and watching the world go by can be an education. By the end of it all, Arusha could end up being an unexpected highlight of your safari.

Tarangire National Park

Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favorite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery – savannah plains, river woodlands and rocky hills.

Serengeti National Park

If you haven't fallen in love with Tanzania by the time you reach the Serengeti, then this is the place that will make it happen. This Unesco World Heritage–listed park is simply extraordinary, with its savannah grasslands that seem like they go on forever, and with more animals than you ever thought possible. Big lion prides stalk the riverbanks. Solitary leopards watch the world go by from the fork of a tree. Cheetahs streak across the plains in pursuit of a gazelle. You will probably also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes and spotted hyenas while you're here, not to mention so many other animals.

Early this morning we'll be taking you to the next stage of your safari, the Serengeti National Park, but you'll also get to enjoy a game drive along the way.

This afternoon you're in for something special: a guided game drive through Serengeti National Park. Led by an expert guide, you'll look for wildlife (big cats, elephants and others) all across the Serengeti's beautiful safari landscapes.

Serengeti National Park

Welcome to the Unesco World Heritage–listed Serengeti, one of Africa’s top safari destinations. While you’re here, there’s an excellent chance that you’ll see leopards along the dry riverbanks, cheetahs out on the grasslands, and elephants, giraffes and all kinds of antelopes everywhere across the park. Watch also for the Serengeti’s famous lion prides. And that’s just the start. Some of the largest and most diverse wildlife populations on the planet roam the Serengeti, not to mention millions of wildebeest and zebras who migrate across the plains every year.

Serengeti National Park

There's always more to discover in the Serengeti, and you'll get more chances to do so on your return to the park. Serengeti is the largest and most famous park in Tanzania, known worldwide for its endless plains, wildebeest migration, herds of lions and other predators like hyenas, cheetahs and leopards. Crocodiles can be found in the Grumeti River, as well as hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and gazelles.

Ngorongoro Crater

Your first sight of Ngorongoro Crater is likely not one you’ll easily forget. As seen from the crater rim, this natural bowl, both vast and intimate, is one of Africa’s most beautiful natural features, stretching 19 green kilometers (12 miles) from one side to the other. Down in the crater itself, you’ll explore an astonishingly rich, self-contained ecosystem that is protected by high crater walls. Here, lions and hyenas hunt wildebeest and Grant’s gazelle within sight of elephants and black rhinos. Your day spent here will reveal a surprising variety of habitats, from the Lereal Forest and salty Lake Magadi to the plains that rise and fall gently all across the valley floor.

On this morning's guided game drive, we'll take you down into Ngorongoro Crater; the drive down is one of the most thrilling possible approaches for a day of wildlife viewing. You'll be down in the crater for most of the day looking for lions, hyenas, black rhinos and more.

Hadzabe Tribe
The Hadzabe is one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes on Earth. Known for shunning material possessions and social hierarchy, the Hadza roam as needed to find game, tubers and wild berries. Hunter-gatherer societies understand that their survival depends on natural resources.

Lake Manyara National Park then return to Arusha

Lake Manyara is one of the most underestimated national parks in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale, at once compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Rift Valley escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of lake, forest and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars.

From Arusha to Zanzibar Island

You will wake up relaxed in the morning, and spend the day in and around Arusha, maybe take a tour to the Chemka Hot Springs, Lake Duluti, or the Meserani Snake Park, before you leave for Zanzibar in the evening.
Zanzibar
Zanzibar Island is a fascinating place to explore. The long, beautiful beaches that hem in this tropical Indian Ocean island are a big part of its appeal. Another highlight is the atmospheric old Stone Town, a time-warped knot of winding alleys that leads past some fine historic buildings and bustling spice-laden markets. Offshore, a series of fringing reefs and coral gardens offer wonderful snorkelling and diving too.

Soak your tired muscles in Chemka Hot Springs this morning. It's a pretty place, with clear blue water, surrounded by palm trees off the road between Arusha and Moshi.

Afternoon

A relaxed tour with Canoeing on Lake Duluti with the option to relax in a nice environment, see the birds, chameleons, and more.
Visit Meserani Snake Park, Meserani Snake Park outside Arusha, you will see the reptile life that are present in East Africa, including crocodiles, turtles and more.
Just outside the snake park there is a Masai Museum where you can ride camels, or buy souvenirs, like Masai jewelry, swords, shields, and more.
